Patch repair involves installing new asphalt over a section of pavement that has been cut out and prepared for resurfacing. In the case of larger patches—such as repairing a sunken or cracked section of a car park or roadway—the damaged asphalt is removed, the base is re-compacted if needed, and new asphalt is laid to restore a smooth, level surface. When completed to standard, these larger patch repairs can last 10 years or more.
Identify the patch, then measure and mark the area to be cut and removed.
Apply the tack coat than apply asphalt evenly and rake it to achieve the desired finish height.
Compact the Asphalt and crack seal edges.
