A pothole overlay is a repair method where a layer of new asphalt is applied directly over the damaged area without removing the existing pavement. This technique is quicker and less expensive than full removal, providing a temporary smooth surface. However, it is generally best suited for minor damage and may not be as long-lasting as a full cut-and-fill repair.
